With our victory over Al Sadd and reaching the final, this is the fourth time since Al Duhail reaches the finals since joining the Stars League, after appearing in the 2016/2018/2019 editions. The team’s victory in the final match remains what is known about it, as it has not lose any final matches in the tournament.
In the 2016 edition, the team reached the final match that was held on Friday, May 2nd at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. Al Duhail faced Al Sadd, and the original time of the match ended in a two-goal tie for each team, Chico Flores and Nam Tae Hee scored the goals for AlDuhail.
The referee resorted to penalty shots and Al Duhail won four to two. Dioko, Louise Martin, Chico Flores and Nam Tae Hee scored for Al Duhail, and coach Jamal Belmadi led the team technically in that match.
In the 2018 edition, the final match was held on Saturday, May 19 at Khalifa International Stadium, in which Al Duhail, under the supervision of coach Jamal Belmadi, faced Al Rayyan team and succeeded in defeating them with two goals to one, scored by Karim Boudiaf and Youssef Al Arabi.
In the 2019 edition, which was held on Thursday, May 16, in honor of the opening of Al Janoub Stadium, one of the 2022 World Cup stadiums. Coach Rui Faria managed to lead Al Duhail to win over Al Sadd by four goals against a goal scored by Ali Afif, Edmilson da Silva (two goals) and a goal by Moroccan Youssef Al Arabi.
