H.E. Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani – Qatar Olympic Committee President – crowned today our first team of football with the trophy of Qatar Cup 2023 for the third time in our Club history after defeating Al Sadd by two clean goals in the final match played at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium and kicked of at 10 pm.
The first half ended in a goalless tie despite the obvious superiority of our team with several offensive attempts on Al Sadd goal and missed many goal scoring opportunities, the most prominent of which the shot by Nam Tae Hee hitting the post.
In the second half, Al Duhail put more heavy offensive pressure on Al Sadd seeking to score the first goal which came at the 48th minute by our striker Michael Olunga who invested in the assist by Ferjani Sassi.
At the 53rd minute and from an organized attempt by Al Duhail, Ferjani Sassi managed to secure the score with the second goal from a shot inside Al Sadd penalty area after the ball ricochet from Al Sadd goalkeeper Saad Al Sheeb.
Al Duhail continued their attempts looking for the third goal missing many chances until the referee blew his whistle.
