Al Duhail Head Coach Christophe Galtier described the team’s victory this evening over the Tajik Club Al Istiklol as good. The coach said in the post match press conference: We suffered from difficulties at the beginning of the match and we were not good at spreading on the field. I was not satisfied with the actions of some of our players, however the performance improved in the second half and we spread well and succeeded in scoring goals. We had an offensive tendency and a desire to reach the net and score the first goal, and this is what happened. We presented a better second half than the first half and there is always an explanation for what happened in the match. We did not field this squad in any match and for this reason everyone witnessed the difference in performance, especially in the second half, where there was a reaction from the players and we created opportunities and succeeded in reaching the net.

The coach added: We have 4 points and we will wait for the result of the match between Al Nassr and the Iranian team, but qualification is not in our hands and it is a very weak hope.

The coach continued: There is a big difference between the teams we faced, such as Al Nassr and Al Istiklol. Al Nassr has high-class attacking players, while the Al Istiklol team is respectable and good at spreading on the field. Today we achieved the result we sought, and the good defensive performance is what prevented the opposing team from scoring, nevertheless we must work and improve from one match to another, and our victory does not mean that there are no mistakes that must be corrected if we want to win titles.
