Al Duhail Head Coach Christophe Galtier confirmed that the team will be ready for their match versus Al Arabi after the league resumes. The coach, who spoke at the pre-match press conference held at 5:00 pm yesterday at the club’s press conference hall, said: “We had a long preparation period that lasted for seven weeks during the break for the Asian Cup, which the Qatari national team won. Our injured players have recovered, and there was a good preparation period that the players committed to in an excellent way. It is now important to reintegrate our players who have returned from the national team and prepare them for the upcoming matches.”
The coach added: “During the preparation period, we lost a number of matches against strong teams such as Zenit Saint Petersburg and Shanghai Shenhua, which helped us to adjust some things in the team structure. We succeeded in signing the player Veressimo, who will be an addition to the team’s defense. We also analyzed the team’s matches in the first half, which were not good, and I decided to make a change in the formation to improve the performance.”
Galtier continued: “Our match against Al Arabi will be tough and it is an opportunity for the team to return to winning ways, especially since we are far away from the top teams. We hope to finish the season in a good position, which requires us to focus and work very seriously. The team has regained its strength after we worked hard during the past period, and we had training sessions and friendly matches that were beneficial for us, both individually and collectively.”
The coach concluded: “The new player Veressimo is ready after training with us during the past period and before his signing, he had resumed training with his Brazilian team. He will be ready to participate and will be an addition to the team.
