Galtier: Our victory over Al Shahania doesn’t guarantee the title…

Al Duhail first-team head coach, Christophe Galtier, emphasized the difficulty of the upcoming match versus Al-Shahania, which is part of Round 6 of the Ooredoo Stars League, despite the difference in both teams’ standings.

Galtier stated during the pre-match press conference, “This week, I focused on avoiding complacency or overconfidence, especially after our big win over Al Sadd in the previous match.”

He added, “I urged the players to maintain their focus and increase their determination in every match we play and to avoid any slackness that might affect some, especially after strong results. This is very dangerous when we face a team struggling in the standing.”

Galtier continued, “The good thing is that we have some advantage in terms of points and standing due to the long duration of the season, in addition to some unexpected obstacles such as injuries or unwanted results, which also gives us some comfort during periods of decline. However, we must maintain balance.”

Galtier concluded, “I know there are some rumors suggesting that our team will clinch the title if we win against Al Shahania. This is completely untrue. There are 16 matches remaining, which equals 48 points. We hope to win versus Al Shahania to continue our progress at the top of the standing table.
