Al Duhail Head Coach Christophe Galtier emphasized the importance of the upcoming match versus Al Gharafa in the Ooredoo Stars League during the pre-match press conference held at Al Duhail Club press conference hall.
Galtier opened his statements by saying: Of course, Al Gharafa match is an important match against one of the teams participating in the AFC Champions League. I watched their last match in the Asian championship and of course, Al Gharafa has great attacking potentials.
Galtier added: As I mentioned earlier, I am happy with the result of our last match by winning versus Al Ahli, but I was not happy with the performance in the match, but as I said, we did not have enough time to prepare for the match due to the engagement of many of our players in international matches with our Qatar national team.
Galtier continued: I asked the players to return to the good performance that we have been accustomed to since the beginning of the season, which will make the team chances of winning different matches greater, and I am fully aware and convinced of my team capabilities.
Then he added: Over the past three days, we have prepared well for the upcoming match and focused on linking the team lines and providing a good performance, unlike what happened during the last Al Ahli match.
Galtier continued: One of the positive things is the return to play at our stadium, the playing conditions here are very good, of course, Al Gharafa team may be exhausted due to participating in the AFC Champions League, but playing in the atmosphere of the AFC Champions League and at high levels certainly gives the players the motivation and incentive to provide good levels, Al Gharafa has time, even if it is short, to recover and regain their strength before facing us after tomorrow, Sunday.
Regarding the team’s decline in terms of goal scoring in recent matches, Galtier stated: Of course, the competing teams study our method well and work on developing the defensive and compact style, which we clearly witnessed during Al Ahli game and the few scoring opportunities, unlike Al Shahania match where we had many chances but we missed a lot of them.
