Galtier: Cup matches have different calculations, despite the absences, we will seriously strive to win the title…

This morning concluded the pre-match press conference for the QSL Cup final scheduled to be held tomorrow at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium in Qatar Sports Club between Al Duhail and Al Arabi, with the presence of the first team Head Coach, Christophe Galtier, and the first team player, Ahmed Abdel Maqsod.

During the press conference, Galtier emphasized his awareness of the difficulty and importance of the match, opening his statements by saying: Of course, it is a final match, and everyone at Al Duhail agrees on the need to win this cup. The preparations were not as good as required due to the absence of 12 players from the team currently, and we did not prepare as required, but we will make every effort to win the title.

Galtier continued: Our last match versus Al Wakrah, we made a great effort after playing for more than a hundred minutes, and this is considered a great effort on side of the players. During the last week, we tried to focus on the physical aspect with this great effort exerted by the players.

Galtier added: League matches should not be compared to tomorrow’s match. In league matches, we had the full squad, but in tomorrow’s game, the matter is completely different. We have the ambition to win, and so does Al Arabi. We have 6 or 7 young players who certainly lack the experience of playing such matches, but we must prepare well and everyone must be ready for this match.

He went on: The QSL Cup is important, and we will strive to win it. The players deserve to win this title after the effort they put throughout the various rounds, and its importance increases as it is Al Duhail first title this season.

Galtier continued: Al Arabi had an unsuccessful start in the league, although they have distinguished players. Al Arabi is having a season similar to what our team had last season, but I think the team is able to return to the competition, and I wish them that, of course, but certainly after tomorrow’s match.

Galtier concluded: Since the beginning of the season, we have had many young players within the group. This is certainly a positive thing for the team to perform better and prove their worth to be within the team’s squad, and I think that the QSL Cup was launched for such objective, including promoting young talented players and their participation in matches. The arrival of these players to the final is a positive motivation for them to win and give their best.
