Al Duhail First Football Team right-back Bassam Al Rawi expressed his deep sadness and everyone’s dissatisfaction with the team performance against Al Shamal in the previous round during the pre-match press conference.

Bassam Al Rawi opened his remarks by saying: Of course, Al Shamal loss was tough on all of us at Al Duhail Club after we were in the lead and close to winning the title, but the team wasn’t ready for this match, and not everyone performed at the required level of fitness.

Bassam Al Rawi added: We have to focus on the Al Arabi match. The league is still on, with two rounds remaining, and we must change the image we presented during the previous match against Al Shamal. We are all amazed that with the same lineup against Al Shamal, we were able to defeat Al Gharafa, both in performance and result. There is no justification for this huge difference between both matches. The blame lies first and foremost with us as players, before the technical staff.

Al Rawi concluded: As I mentioned, the league isn’t over yet and things could change at any moment. We have to focus on Al Arabi game and we have no choice but to win the match in order to hold on to our hopes of winning the league until the end.
