Our first team of football gained today the Ooredoo Cup title, which is the first for this sports season. The team defeated Umm Salal in the final match by one goal, which was played in Jassim bin Hamad Stadium and kicked off at 10 pm.
Al Duhail managed to end the first half in the lead by a goal scored at the 37th minute by Nam Tae Hee from a shot from outside the penalty area. Our team was the better team on the field of play in terms of prevalence and severity, missing several goal scoring opportunities, while Umm Salal relied on defense.
In the second half, our team continued their dominance and offensive attempts on Umm Salal goal but in vain.
The referee blew his whistle to end the match with a very valuable win for Al Duhail and crowing them champions of Ooredoo Cup 2022/2023.
