Al Duhail Head Coach Hernan Crespo expressed his confidence in the ability of his players to seal the league title in the last round of the league on Monday evening, and the coach said in the pre-match press conference that was held at 06:30 pm yesterday at the club’s press conference hall: I am very happy to be with Al Duhail and I must thank everyone .
Crespo added: The match versus Al Shamal is our last chance to win the league title, and until now, after 21 league games, we are still at the top of the league table and we must complete our work by obtaining the league title and the opportunity is there in our hands… therefore we must trust ourselves.
Crespo continued: The team has players with distinctive levels, but the absence of a player like Al Moez certainly affects us, as he is one of the most prominent and most important players in the team and I as a coach relied on the player’s physical and technical readiness when I select the squad that will be on the field in every match, and the team depends on the spirit and power of the group, there are players with distinguished performance such as Nam Tae Hee and Edmilson, while there are young players who have succeeded in presenting themselves well, such as Youssef Ayman and Mohamed Al Naimi, and thanks to this mixture we are on the top of the league.
The coach said: I was honored to be part of the Al Duhail project, as this season was amazing for me, in which I got to know the Qatari traditions and I witnessed football here in Qatar closely. There are a distinguished group of players with me. If I leave the team, I will carry many memories, as it is an unforgettable experience and I must thank the players for the effort they made throughout the season.
Commenting on the pressures that he faces in his last match, the coach said: The pressures are part of my working life, whether when I was a player or after becoming a coach, and when you are in a club like Al Duhail, where they are always looking to win titles, these pressures bring positive impact.
