Al Duhail Coach Christophe Galtier expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance this evening in their match versus Al Shamal. The coach said in a statement to the club’s official website after the end of the match: It was an important match and we had to return to victories after our trip to Saudi Arabia and our defeat to Al Nasr in the AFC Champions League, even though the players were feeling a little fatigue.

The coach continued: I admired my team’s conduct on the field and their determination to reach the goal, as we missed many opportunities. For its part, Al Shamal team tried to score and almost succeeded in doing so it it would not have been for the crossbar’s intervention. In the last minutes of the match, things were difficult for us because we conceded a goal, however the persistence of the our players both defesnively and offensively. We will have to be more effective offensively in order to secure our lead and to develop and correct mistakes.

Galtier concluded: I must praise the performance of the substitute players who entered the field. They did their part and helped their teammates maintain our lead in the score.
