ِAl Duhail Head Coach Christophe Galtier described the team’s upcoming match versus Al Rayyan as exciting, and the coach said in the pre-match press conference that was held at 04:45 pm yesterday in the club’s press conference hall: After our last match versus Al Shamal in the league, I decided to give the players a rest to recover, especially since the match versus Al Shamal came a few days after our match versus the Saudi side Al Nasr and it was important for them to get some rest before starting preparations for Al Rayyan game.
The coach continued: We went through a number of training sessions in which we focused on working on the technical and physical aspects, and I believe that the players are ready to fight in this match, and we will perform a final training session through which we will conclude our preparations for the match.
Regarding the expected pressure in such matches, the coach said: There will certainly be pressure on the players, but it will be positive pressure, as the team’s players have experience in playing such matches, and we are happy to face a team that is ahead of us in the league standing table, as such confrontations are exciting and strong.
Galtier added: I know that the team conceded many goals in previous matches, and we must know that this matter is not only a defensive problem, but rather a problem for the team as a whole, and there must be adjustments in most of lines, and we focus our work on this matter, and my target is for the players to understand and adapt. For this reason, we must play organized football and we must always have the desire to score more goals than the opponent we face.
Regarding the return of Semedo, the coach said: Semedo is an important player in the squad, and his return is a good addition to the team. Since taking over my duties, I have found him working very seriously in training, and he is one of the elements that I rely on a lot.
Galtier conculded: We will work hard to prepare the team to achieve the desired results and make the fans happy in the upcoming matches.
