Al Duhail Head coach Galtier described the team’s upcoming match versus Umm Salal next Wednesday as important, saying in a statement to the club’s official website:
“The match is very important, even though the league is about to end and there are only two rounds left. We have won two consecutive league matches for the first time since my arrival, and the third win is very important to prepare better for the Amir Cup, the last competition of the season.
The team’s confidence has been boosted after our victory over Al Sadd and Muaither in the last two games, and it is clear that we must correct some mistakes, especially in defense. Umm Salal is a strong team and has achieved important victories, including a victory over us in the first leg of the season, as well as a victory over Al Gharafa, who were competing for the title a few weeks ago.
I hope that we will be focused and play well and cohesively to be offensive and score goals. We must avoid counter-attacks as our opponent is very good in this aspect, and offensive transitions, so we must be careful to maintain the right balance between our offensive line and our defensive line.
There are still some important players who will miss this match, including the Korean Kim Moon-Huan and Youssef Ayman, who was injured in the previous match, and Ismail Mohamed, who was also injured in the Qatar-Emirati Super Cup in Dubai and will not be available for the next match.
