Qatari football fans are eagerly awaiting the exciting match that will bring together Al Duhail and Al Sadd in the semifinal of the Amir Cup, as the matches between both teams have been characterized by excitement, competitiveness, and strength since Al Duhail participation in the Qatar Stars League in the 2010/2011 sports season.
Saturday’s match will be the eighth encounter between the two teams in the Amir Cup, as the two teams have met five times in the semifinal and twice in the final.
The first match between both teams in the Amir Cup was on Saturday, 11 May 2011, at 05:15 PM at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in the semifinal round, and ended in favor of Al Sadd with a score of 3-2, with goals scored by Youssef Msakni and Issiar Dia for the team.

The third confrontation was on Friday, 20 May 2016, in the final match held at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, which kicked off at 07:00 PM. The match ended in a 2-2 draw in regular time, with Chico Flores and Nam Tae-hee scoring for the team, before the referee resorted to a penalty shootout that ended in favor of Al Duhail with a score of 4-2, with goals scored by Alain Dioko, Luiz Martin, Chico Flores and Nam Tae-hee.
