Al Duhail Head Coach Christophe Galtier expressed his confidence in the team ability to perform exceptionally well this season. In the pre-match press conference held yesterday evening at 6 PM in the club press conference hall, the coach said: “We’re returning to action after a six-week break, during which we had a good preparation period that I’m very satisfied with. We were only missing a final friendly match to further assess our players’ condition, but overall, the camp was very good.”
The coach continued: “The players have shown good harmony and understanding, implementing all the technical staff instructions. Now we’ve entered the official matches phase, and we must start the season well. There are 22 league matches ahead, and it’s crucial to start the tournament with a victory. Our first match will be versus Qatar, a good team, and it will be a strong match for both sides.”
The coach said: “Everyone in the club has the desire to deliver an outstanding season. For my part, I’m in constant communication with the club management, and we’re looking into everything related to the team. Everyone in the club has a role to play, and we’ve made adjustments to the team. The management is providing everything available to improve the players’ conditions.”
Commenting on the news about new signings for the team, the coach said: “Football is witnessing a lot of transfer activity during this period, hence the news about player transfers, especially in Europe. But here, the situation is different, the regulations are different, and there is a limited number of players, so we must leave them the freedom to transfer.”
Galtier concluded: “We’ve succeeded in signing Luiz Alberto, a great player coming to us from the Italian league. He has the ability to present himself in the desired manner, as shown in the matches we played in the training camp in Austria. He consistently linked up all lines of the field and provided great support to the front line. He will play in the position of the Brazilian star Coutinho, whose injuries prevented him from playing with the team as desired, but he managed to deliver a good performance in the matches he played with us.”
