Al-Duhail goalkeeper, Salah Zakaria, emphasized the importance of their upcoming match versus Al Ahli during the pre-match press conference held earlier today at the club headquarters. He highlighted that the match is a clash between the league top two teams and acknowledged Al Ahli strong performance this season.
Zakaria added: As our coach mentioned, our team has many international players. We’ve faced some challenges after returning from international duty, but I have full confidence in my teammates’ experience and our ability to secure all three points.
He continued: We are all professional players and know how to differentiate between our national team duties and club commitments. Our national team participation is behind us now. We have another gathering at the end of the month, and hopefully, we will perform better. However, our full focus is currently on the club… given the limited time, we must quickly adapt and refocus on our team.
When asked about the newly introduced award for the best goalkeeper by the Qatar Stars League and his ambition to win it, Zakaria replied: Of course, the award for the best goalkeeper, which has been officially adopted by the Qatar Stars League, is a very positive and encouraging initiative for many young players to perform at a higher level. However, I’m not thinking about any individual awards. My focus is on winning titles, especially the league championship.
