A press conference was held today for Al Duhail first football team ahead of their upcoming match versus Al Shamal in Round 9 of the Ooredoo Stars League. The pre-match press conference was attended by the team Head Coach, Christophe Galtier, and player Bassam Al Rawi.
Galtier opened his statements at the press conference, saying: Of course, the matches are coming quickly due to the tight schedule. We started our training yesterday in a simple way, and today, we will start preparing for the next round match versus Al Shamal in the league.
Galtier added: We will work hard to correct the mistakes of the last match, especially the way of building up the play and the connection between the different lines of the team, and to return to our usual way of playing.
Galtier continued: In the second half of the last match, we performed well, unlike what happened in the first half, and we will work hard to correct the mistakes that appeared recently and that we fell into in order to return to harmony and coordination between the players.
Galtier went on saying: Al Shamal is performing at a great level, but we will work to narrow the spaces for them so that we do not leave them playing comfortably, which will cause us trouble at the defensive level. They have players who previously played for our team, and indeed, they are a strong team, and they will try to present a good level during the match, but we will spoil the opportunity for them. We will try to impose our style from the start of the match so that we do not make the same mistakes as in the previous match.
He added: The upcoming international break will of course not be in our favor due to the large number of international players in our team, including players from the Qatari national team, in addition to Michael Olunga, a player for the Kenyan national team, but of course, we care about the interest of the Qatari national team and we will try to prepare the rest of the players for the upcoming challenges.
At the end of the press conference, the Head Coach of our team, Christophe Galtier, praised the efforts of team player Bassam Al Rawi during the previous match, saying: “Our player Bassam played as a defender against one of the best players in the Qatari league, Yassin Brahimi, and succeeded in limiting his danger to a great extent throughout both halves of the match.
