Al Duhail first football team fell into the trap of a goalless draw versus their hosts Al Rayyan in Round 13 top match of the Ooredoo Stars League, which was held at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium.
Al Duhail, led by the French Head Coach Christophe Galtier, started the match with the following starting lineup:

The 15th minute witnessed the first dangerous chances from Al Duhail on Al Rayyan goal after Al Rayyan goalkeeper saved Michael Olunga’s powerful shot, sending it into a corner kick for Al Duhail.
Minute 16 witnessed an attempt by Al Duhail with a shot by Luis Alberto, followed by another opportunity by Humam Al Amin with a new shot in minute 22.
Minute 30 saw the danger return from Al Duhail players with another shot by team captain Al Moez Ali, which was immediately followed by Verissimo’s shot, but the attack passed safely into Al Rayyan goalkeeper.
Minute 41 witnessed the closest balls from Al Duhail to Al Rayyan goal after Al Rayyan goalkeeper succeeded in stopping Olunga’s shot to send it out for a new corner kick in favor of Al Duhail.
Minute 51: After great forward attacking pressure from Al Duhail players, the ball reached Luis Alberto, who shot a powerful ball that passed just beside Al Rayyan left post.
Minute 64: Al Rayyan goalkeeper cleared the dangerous cross that Al Moez Ali had transferred from the right side to Karim Boudiaf, who shot it at one of Al Rayyan defenders to clear the danger away from Al Rayyan goal and waste the opportunity to score the first goal.
Minute 76 Al Moez Ali almost opened the scoring for Al Duhail after he penetrated with great skill from the right side, but he finally lost the ball after falling in front of Al Rayyan goal, wasting the opportunity to score the first goal in the match.
Minute 89 Al Rayyan goalkeeper stood as a wall in front of Diallo’s powerful shot, which he pushed away with his fingertips to the outside of the field, turning it into a corner kick for Al Duhail.
The nine minutes added as stoppage time did not witness anything new in terms of the score, so the international referee Abdulrahman Al Jassim blew his whistle, announcing the end of the match with a goalless draw.
With this draw, Al Duhail lost two valuable points in the battle to maintain the top of the league table after raising their tally to 29 points, only two points ahead of Al Gharafa in second place.
