Al Duhail First Football Team Striker, the Kenyan international Michael Olunga emphasized during the pre-match press conference ahead of Al Sadd clash the importance and strength of Saturday’s match. He noted that it’s always characterized by enthusiasm and power, and could be decisive in the team’s campaign towards winning the title.
Olunga commenced his statements by saying: Of course, after facing Al Wakrah, we prepared well for the tough Al Sadd match, which has strong players. Our focus is heavily on this match due to its decisive nature in our journey, but it’s certainly not the end. We’ve focused entirely with the coaching staff during training to improve performance and correct the mistakes we made in the previous Al Wakrah game.
Olunga added: “Of course, we are fully aware of the importance of this match in our journey towards winning the title. The focus, as I mentioned, starts from training, especially on the physical and psychological aspects. The pressure will be high, and every point in the coming period will be crucial. I will strive in my role as the team’s striker to improve the offensive side and help score goals, and also by supporting the defense line if needed. We must all stick together as a team and work to win the match.”
Olunga concluded: Reaching the title of the Al Duhail Club all-time top scorer is a great honor for me. It gives me a strong motivation to continue achievements. Of course, without the support of my teammates and everyone at the club, especially for the people who entrusted me in the club, starting from Al Duhail Club President and the Vice-President as well as each and every person who has believed in my ability, this achievement would not have been possible. But it’s just a motivator, as I mentioned, to move forward and achieve more with the team. I always strive to help the club win titles, both locally and internationally, and leave a great mark with the team. Of course, there’s great support from the fans and the Kenyan community in Doha, and I invite them to support us on Saturday.
