Al Duhail First Football Team Head Coach expressed his dissatisfaction with the team level of performance during their match versus Al Shahania in the Ooredoo Stars League, in statements he made after the end of the match.

Galtier opened his statements by saying: We achieved an important and valuable victory, but the performance was not convincing. However, we managed to regain the lead from Al Sadd and widen the gap with Al Gharafa in third place. We had a bad first half, lacking rhythm and competitiveness. Perhaps we were affected by the atmosphere of the match and Al Sadd victory and lead in the league. We were the weaker side in this half and allowed Al Shahania to control the overall play rhythm.

Galtier continued: In the second half, we started well and played about half an hour well, during which we managed to open the scoring, but we made an unjustified mistake that led to Al Shahania getting a penalty and equaliz. Fortunately, we managed to regain the lead again. However, I did not like the way we finished the match on a technical level. We were under a lot of pressure in the last minutes, during which we made many defensive errors.

He then concluded: I told the players that if we want to win the league, we can not give the opponent this comfort and this large number of opportunities. Frankly, after taking the lead, we left large and unnecessary spaces. But in the end, as I mentioned, I am not convinced with the performance except for 30 minutes in the second half only, while our performance in the first half was very weak. We have to quickly address the mistakes we made in order to maintain our path in the league.
